What makes quinoa so good for you?

Quinoa has been around for years (centuries, even); however, it really hit the health market in a craze about a decade ago. Since then, it has been a staple in healthy menus around the globe. Not only is it tasty, but it also has a range of benefits.

Firstly, it is an incredible source of protein as it contains all 9 amino acids. This is incredibly rare for plant-based foods and makes it a fantastic alternative for vegans or vegetarians who need more protein in their diet.

Quinoa is also rich in fibre, making it phenomenal for improving gut health. Eating it frequently can assist digestion, help you feel fuller for longer and support your blood sugar levels. Great gut health can also lower your cholesterol, an issue too many Australians deal with daily.

Above this, it's fantastic for heart health as it can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease (when paired with a good diet and good lifestyle).

Why is Quinoa & Chocolate a strong combination?

Pairing chocolate and quinoa has fantastic benefits, especially when consumed daily. Alongside the benefits we mentioned above, chocolate brings its own set of powerhouse properties along with it.

It is high in anti-inflammatories and detoxants, making it fantastic for fighting ailments, colds and flues. It's also a great source of essential minerals, including iron and magnesium.

One of its key compounds, anandamide, is also known for mood boosting, which can help you feel happier for longer and can act as a natural pick-me-up when you need a little help on a hard or long day.

When paired with quinoa, you have a nutrient-rich snack that supports your energy, muscle repair, brain function and more.
